Explosm!

Specifically Cyanide and Happiness! A very well known comic, and rightfully so. It's all hilarious one-shots, usually using clever anti-jokes or play on words.

Brentafloss

I actually just discovered this recently, and if you're a video gamer this comic certainly is for you.

DYAC

Sure iPhones are popular out there, bringing all the marvels it has to offer into vivid light. But what about its mistakes? More importantly, what about its funny mistakes??? Well there's Damnyouautocorrect for that, showing all the hilarities that ensue when trying to deal with the iPhone's finicky auto correct feature.

Famous YouTuber...

...Ray William Johnson! I'm sure most of you have already heard of him and are even subscribed to his channel, but for those that aren't take a gander, even if you don't like him he finds many viral videos every week just for you.

Comic Combo!

Just rollin' out the comics now! Our next one is Boxer Hockey, with nice funny characters well infused. Although this has a rather slow update rate, it has a nice lengthy story, with comics focused on the story rather than humorous one-shots.

Oatmeal! And How the Blog Will Be Run

Yet another comic, and this one's downright funny! Rarely focusing on historical background, this comic's sole purpose is to entertain and amuse, and boy does it hit the mark. Although the humor can be a tad bit crude at times, it'll be sure to make you laugh for hours on end.

And now clarifying how the blog will be run! There will always be a minimum of 3 posts a day, unless I absolutely have no computer or phone access (very rare). So although I get around on the internet quite a lot, I still have a limited source of Interwebz entertainment, so if you have something you want to suggest for the blog, feel free to comment or email me at temeraire56@yahoo.com. So invite your friends, gather your buddies, and take a ride on the great content of the Internet!

Manliest Comic Ever

Really breaking the trend of using videos now. Well that's because there's plenty of hilarious comics out there. This one is Manly Guys Doing Manly Things, you might recognize a part of it, the one with the Garydos. Anyway 'tis a great read through and through, go check it out!

(Artistic) Art

This might not be for everyone, but I absolutely love this art. It's by Nanohikakou on DeviantArt, and has a nice, dark, stylized flow to it. I personally have trouble finding themes or subject matters in some of his pieces, but nonetheless they are a wonder to look at (or in my case endlessly stare at) so I really suggest you check him out, even if dark isn't typically your style.

Comic!

Comic time! Humon is a hilarious comic maker, mainly known for her Scandinavia and the World comic, featuring the countries of Scandinavia (along with occasional appearances by other countries around the world) in a personified form, usually representing a typical citizen of their country, and their interactions and general shenanigans. What's best is Humon herself is Danish, so every comic is based on real legends/facts/stereotypes, and on her website she goes into detail about every one. So check it out, you'll be surprised at just how cool Scandinavia can really be.

Not a video? Blasphemy!

That's right no video this time, instead it's a blog: hyperbole and a half. Although not usually meant to be humorous, there are quite a few entertaining moments, such as the one relating to this picture, Alot. Although the updates tend to be a bit slow there's plenty to read, and for anyone wondering where the (X ALL the Y) meme came from, it's from this very blog. So go ahead, brew up some hot cocoa, kick back, and relax and indulge yourself in the wonder that is Hyperbole and a Half.

ASDFMovie 4 (latest)

Here's some of the wonderful randomness of TomSka! The asdfmovie series is pretty well known already, but if you haven't seen any of it check it out, it'll get a few giggles and chuckles out of you

How to Dubstep

0.0 Wow, this dude can dance! Talk about style, and what's more, it's to something as un-danceable as dubstep! (good dubstep to be precise)

Ryan Higa

Ah Niga Higa, yet another great "fraud-isement" (fake-itisement? I really can't come up with good names for things). If you don't know him already, seriously check him out on YouTube, he has many hilarious videos similar to this one

Internet Medley

This is a pretty accurate depiction of the internet ^.^ Not to mention the collaborated song is pretty sweet

The tides are ebbing in...

The first MLP post! Now before every non-brony and brony-hater runs off to the hills to hide behind monolith wooden fortresses made out of cheese, hold on. Most MLP music posts are fanmade music, meaning it's either entirely originally composed, or a song from the show was taken and made in the artists' own style. The result? If you think this song has any 'frills' or anything 'girl-y' you'd typically expect from My Little Pony, you're sorely mistaken. This is a dark and epic song, and most importantly, it's steampunk! So regardless of your views on My Little Pony, check out this song, you won't be disappointed.

FIP No. 1 (with a bonus Educational Rant)

And now it's time for a FIP! (Funny Internet Picture). Once again, this picture doesn't really fit the description, it actually isn't that funny. However in this case there's one little fact that's worth noting: there are around 24,644,172 websites out there. So 12 percent of the Internet is full of media intentionally made for your 'happy alone time'...yet people like MeganSpeaks and Lauratickled still get loads of people to watch their videos on YouTube simply because A. they always post a video to 'reply' to some other infamous and popular video so they're shuffled into the "related videos" section next to well-viewed videos and B. either their thumbnails, title and description, or both have something such as visible cleavage or other suggestive poses. So in essence, they're selling their bodies to become famous...hmmm, that sounds awfully familiar to something else out there on the internet...oh yeah, porn! If you haven't caught on by now, I'll tell you right now: their videos have nothing good or entertaining in them. So in order to prevent wasting precious Internet Minutes (a highly regarded currency as we're all aware) here's a suggestion for GreaseMonkey and pretty much any browser plugin: anytime someone clicks on a video like that, it simply redirects the user to a porn site of their choice. The user will get his fill of whatever his heart (or other organs) desire in far more quantity, quality, and a bit hard to comprehend that I'm saying this, but far more class. I would myself if I had the knowledge and time, but I have neither at the moment, so perhaps some savvy internet user out there with some programming knowledge can accomplish this?

Edit: I found out Blogger doesn't expand image to fullsize on click, so here is the full source:

Good Ol' YouTube

Good Ol' YouTube, a conglomerate of cat videos, vocaloid, and most importantly, awesome people like Sam and Niko. The latest by CorridorDigital is gun-free, but still sure to amaze and leave you in awe.

MC Art

And now the first art post! Well it's not really "art" in the sense the rest will be, but it counts
The MC Beatles

Source here

But since it's doesn't undergo the full requirements for an "art" post (no offense to the artist in question), might as well throw in a video while I'm at it.

Watch out for Nether portals, those things be scary!

Celldweller

Considering how this blog has a focus on "discombobulated varieties of musical genres" it's kind of sad the first content post is about a video game glitch. But no use slipping over an old banana peel! (wait...) With anticipated excitement, here comes the first music post! This song isn't mainstream, and that's definitely very sad. It's in quite a few AMV's, PMV's, and everything in between. The driving rock and aggressive techno aspects make this a phenomenal "Epic" (as in the now created genre) song, and there's definitely going to be more Celldweller posts in the future

And now, without further ado, the first post of the blog! To start it all off we have some good ol' fashioned Bethesda handiwork: a.k.a Skyrim glitches. Now if only horses could do this in real life...

The HD List (Informational)

Now that the initial purpose of this blog is done, let's explore just what's in store. The goal of Hybrid Desires is to leave no one out, and that it'll touch on everyone's interests at least a few times. How will this be achieved? At the moment we can only use my own knowledge and breadth to put up content. Luckily, being a "Certified Internet User" since 2006 and just the simple fact that I'm a bored teenager means if I don't know it exactly, I've at least heard of it. So like a wayward vagabond I've been many places, but where exactly? Here's a bit of a simplified list of places/pretty much anything that'll find its way onto this blog:

Funnyjunk
4chan (through a proxy of course)
bronies and MLP
minecraft
nexuiz
skyrim
cyanide and happiness
deviantart
soldat
Gizmodo
hipsters and their obscure interests
dubstep (GOOD dubstep)
rock
memes
general internet shenanigans
Homestuck
assorted video games and other essential minerals
bacon
Wait...what?
funny pictures
and many more...

Since this is done from the top of my head, it's not very elaborately organized nor is it nearly complete, but it'll do to hit the ground running. One last thing: since I'm more interested in certain things than others, I'll be spacing out the larger ones in larger batches, but shorter frequencies to make it fair. And now, onward! We ride...at dawn! (or whenever boredom engulfs me)

The (Im)personal Introduction

Hello all! Everyone is welcome to this blog, and the more variety in interests the better. The purpose is to simply explore new things online, a lattice of interests united by people sharing those interests, or perhaps people like me who struggle to say what their interests even are. We simply wander around, listening to a meager collection of songs from all sorts of genres that have little relation to each other, but for someone reason perked our interests. We can only hope that we'll stumble on something fresh and exciting, never sure when we'll finally find a new song or artist. Pandora, Last.fm, and iTunes Genius gives us absolutely nothing good in terms of music. Our tastes in video games and other types of media constantly wander: one day we'll be playing a realistic first person shooter like Battlefield 3, next day we'll be delving into the fast paced and energetic cartoon-y world of the free and open source Nexuiz. Our real life interests are just as unmanageable, from informally studying psychology to digital drawing to researching ancient religions and dead languages. There is no "central website" for anyone like this, no one clique or term to define people like this. So if any of the above seems to describe at least a part of you, or if you're just one of the millions wandering the 'Interwebz' aimlessly, take a look around, you don't know what you'll find 'till you search.
